FAQs
kidstheatreWEST Camp
What’s it all about?
After many conversations with parents and students about what they want in a summer camp, we’ve developed a camp that will meet everyone’s needs. The following information should answer many of your questions. If not, please contact us with any questions.
Ages
kidstheatreWEST takes campers from ages 4-17. To make sure that each student is being challenged, classes in our 4 week camps are divided according to age groups. Groups typically are divided among 8-10 year olds, 11-13 year olds and 13 year olds and above.
Schedule
Camps meet from 9-4 daily. kidstheatreWEST jr camps meet from 9-12:30. There is before and after care available for all camps.
Enrichment Classes
One of the most frustrating things about rehearsing plays for campers is that not everyone is busy at the same time. The nature of theatre is such that inevitably actors are sitting around waiting while the director gets to their scene. At kidstheatreWEST we strive to make sure that no one is sitting around without anything to do. Campers who are not working with the director will attend enrichment classes with teachers specializing in topics such as stage combat, improvisation, audition technique and voice!
Payment Plans
Each 4 week session costs $1049. Each 2 week session is $649. Our kidstheatreWEST jr. camp is $299. To reserve your camper a place in the program, We require a $350 deposit with the balance due the first day of camp. Once we receive a deposit, a registration packet will be sent for completion. These forms are also due when final payment is due. We also have other payment plans. Please call 303-507-7424 for more information.

3. Notebook for taking notes.

5. 2 healthy snacks
Off Campus Trips
During each 4 week camp session, the students will attend one professional production (cost included in price). For this outing, the students will wear nice clothes. Parents will receive notification one week prior with appropriate signature forms.
Parent Participation
To help keep the costs as low as possible, we ask each family to help in two areas: set building and performance support.
Set building is led by one of the directors and it usually involves painting and/or building sets. This activity usually takes place a couple of evenings during the week or on a Saturday. We are planning to include the students as much as possible in this activity.
Performance support takes place during the dress rehearsals (if possible) and during the performances. Various jobs need to be done before and during the performance to make sure that each performance runs as smoothly as possible. For example, parents are needed backstage to help with costume changes and to help with entrances and exits.
We also ask a parent to volunteer to be the Lead Parent. The Lead Parent is responsible for:
· communicating with the parents about volunteer activities
· getting parents to sign up for the shows
A Lead Parent packet will be provided. It takes about 1-2 hours per week to be the Lead Parent. Most of the work can be done via email.
Clothing Policy
Students are expected to dress comfortably and be ready to move.
